Changes in the structure

Earlier this term I structured my guide to be divided in sections. Every section was to have a theme. However, I figured out by now that having such sections would be extremely uncomfortable for the user. For example, if you just visited a place in the Duomo area you don't really want to keep changing chapter in order to find a restaurant in that area. So instead of dividing it into section by the topic I will be creating areas of Milan. Here is a map I used as inspiration:

Here is a new structure of my guide: 


  1. The author: information about me
  2. General information: this section will include everything you need to know before leaving for Milan. It will be quite basic information.
    - Location (maybe a map as well)
    - Important phone numbers
    - Transportation
    - General information about costs
    - When to go there (best period)
    - Useful links
  3. History and Background: this section will be something to read before the trip.
    - Brief history of the city (maybe some kind of timeline as well)
    - Milan today (current situation)
    - Famous people (some names and quotes)
    - Language
    - Dictionary for the perfect tourist
  4. Top ten things you can't miss in Milan: the 10 best things included in this guide that you MUST do
  5. Areas: each area must include HOTELS, PLACES TO VISIT, RESTAURANTS, SHOPPING
    -Duomo
    - Città Studi
    - Porta Vittoria
    - Porta Romana
    - Navigli
    - Fiera San Siro
    - Porta Garibaldi
    - Corso Buenos Aires

    - General information
