I finished the hotel section and added it on Indesign. It ended up being 5 pages. I added some pictures to avoid a huge amount of text.

Taking pictures and updating magazine
Today I went around again and took all the pictures I still needed to take. I then updated the magazine with some new pictures I have taken. I will have to download from the internet picture of the Navigli and the Last Supper. I couldn't take pictures of the Navigli because there was no water as this is the period of the year when they clean them up. For the Last Supper, cameras are not allowed inside so I will just put a picture of the church it is in, Santa Maria delle Grazie. Here is what the new top ten page looks like.
For more pictures of Milan see the section "Pictures of Milan" at the top of the page.

Pictures I already took and what I will take tomorrow
List of things I need to take pictures of
I just made a list of all the pictures I need to take. I also added two columns to tick off when I took a picture of that thing and when I included it in the guide. This is just a list of the main things I might add more or even not put some.

Small checklist
In order to organize my work I am writing everything down on a small notebook organizing it in check-lists so that I clearly know what I am missing. Here is the most recent one that includes everything I need to fix in my travel guide so far. Some things I already done. I need to add to this check-list that I need to create a table of contents
"Materials" and programs I am using
Programs:
- Indesign
- Photoshop
- Paint
- Word
Books and other travel guides:
- 101 cose da fare a Milano almeno una volta nella vita (Beltramini, Micol Arianna., and Thomas Bires. 101 Cose Da Fare a Milano Almeno Una Volta Nella Vita. Roma: Newton Compton, 2008. Print.)

- Londra Incontri, only using for the structure (Bindloss, Joe. Londra: Incontri. Torino: EDT, 2009. Print.)
Taking pictures
In the past few days I spent many hours in Milan focusing on taking pictures. I didn't take pictures of everything yet but I have around 600 pictures of the main things. ALL THE PICTURES ARE TAKEN BY ME. For more pictures check the page "pictures of Milan" at the top. I obviously won't post all of them but here are some of my favourite:
CREATING #2
here is a overview of what the magazine looks like so far. All the pictures are screenshot taken by me of the work I ma doing on Indesign on my own computer. The photographs are taken by me in Milan. These are screenshots so the quality is not the best but the book will be really high quality.

CREATING
History
Today I added the section History to the list of things I have completed so far. Here it is:
Early
growth
·
Nowadays Milan has a great position in worldwide
market
· It is a fully developed city under several aspects
For more detailed history of Milan check out the article “Milano” in Encyclopaedia Britannica
Early
growth
- · Founded by the Gauls about 600 BC
- · Always been one of the most powerful cities since the Roman empire
- · In 1045 Milan became a commune with its own governmental structures
- · It lived a period of economic florescence in 1176 after the Battle of Legnano.
- · The problem at the time was the ongoing conflict between different rich families such as the Torriani and the Visconti.
- · In 1499 the duchy of Milan became property of France and it was reconquered in 1500 by Ludovico Sorza.
·
The city fell then into the hands of Philp
II of Spain until 1706.
·
In 1630 the novel I promessi sposi by Alessandro Manzoni was published
·
In 1706 the city passed from Spanish to Austrian
rule
·
Despite the Austrian censorship Milan was positively
affected by the French Revolution
·
In 1805 Milan became the capital of the
new kingdom of Italy until 1814
·
In the next decades the city was influenced
by the positive current of the Risorgimento
·
Thanks to the Cinque giornate the people of Milan rose up against the Austrian
government.
·
Unluckily the Austrians took control back
later on
·
The Battle of Magenta liberated Milan in
1859
·
After that Milan became where most of the revolutionary
movements and reforms took place.
·
In 1861 Italy became a proper country on its
own
20th century
20th century
- · World War I destroyed Milan just like it did with many other cities
- · Around 1920 a great period of instability began as workers started protesting and a strong opposition to socialism was born
- · Fascism started to gain support from the Milanese people
- · The Germans occupied Milan after World War II until the Allies arrived in 1945
- · Mussolini’s was killed the same year
- · Politics was then controlled by the Christian democrats
- · 1968 was a fundmental year for the Italian student movement and women’s role in society
- · In 1970 terrorism and economic depression was all people were talking about
- · Until another economic boom came in the 1980s
- · 1992 was the year of corruption
· It is a fully developed city under several aspects

Colours choice
Author profile, useful information and background information about the city
In order to create the first two sections in my travel guide I had to do some research. Here is all the information I collected. I will cite my sources at the bottom.
Author profile
Hello everyone! I am Sofia. I was born in
Italy, not actually in Milan but I spent a lot of time there as my dad is from
there and my grandparents live there. I have always been fascinated by this
city where I spent most of my time as a child. I feel like there are so many
things to do and, just like any other city in the world, an entire life wouldn’t
be enough to discover every single bit of it. . Now I live in Sweden and I
thought why not sharing the beauty of
this city with everyone?
I really hope you will enjoy “Everything everywhere” and your trip to Milan!

Background information
Background information
Milan is the second
biggest city after Rome in Italy but people call it the business capital of the
country. It is situated in the middle of the Lombardia region between the Alps
and the river Po. It is obviously known for its fashion, glorious art, architecture
and cuisine. There is also something called a Fashion Rectangle that includes
big famous brands such as D&G, Versace and Armani. There are also many
design industries and its huge stock exchange. There is quite a big football culture
centred on the two Milanese teams Inter and AC Milan.
Tourists also really appreciate the amazing museums and art galleries.
There is so much history in this city that it would be impossible to look at everything.

General notes:
·
Every week
(preferably during the weekend) I will spend some times taking everything I
created and putting it nicely on Indesign. This process will happen once a
week for at least one hour
·
I will spend two
weeks in Milan during Christmas break and I will use that time to take
pictures and “look around”
·
The printing should
take around 15 days so I might have to bring it there before. That means I
need to be done earlier
·
I left a “break” during
the days around Christmas because I probably won’t do much
